Both turn Jira issues into dashboard charts. Koala is a separate product from Berry.Love — own name, own interface, own code. It does the same job at a lower per-seat rate, with scheduled exports and no telemetry, and it runs entirely inside Atlassian.
Prices below are published commercial Cloud rates. Custom Charts figures were read from Tempo’s live Marketplace pricing on 14 August 2026. See their pricing tab.
Koala undercuts the per-seat rate by about 40% at every paying tier, and is free where Custom Charts charges a $10 monthly floor. Annual billing on the Marketplace is typically ten months for twelve.
| Jira site size | Custom Charts | Koala | Cut |
|---|---|---|---|

| 100 users | $3.03 | $1.79 | 41% |

| 5,000 users | $0.30 | $0.18 | 40% |
Koala ships six chart types and the export path. Custom Charts is a broader dashboard platform, including connected gadgets Koala does not attempt in v1.

It is not a drop-in copy of Custom Charts’ interface, templates, or connected-gadget model. Teams that need Simple Search driving a wall of gadgets, or time-in-status as a first-class chart, should stay on the product that already does that. Teams that want a fast single gadget, honest billing, scheduled Excel and PDF, and issue data that never leaves Atlassian are who Koala is for.
Koala’s Marketplace listing is in review (app id 2810931756). Tablet is the live Berry.Love Jira app — unlimited issue export to Excel, PDF, and Word, same vendor, same Runs on Atlassian posture.
